Rival Ball Tournament is a breakout game that adds an extra ingredient to the traditional gameplay. Like in a classic breakout, the goal is to destroy all the bricks on the playing field by using a ball and a pad to control it. What makes this game different is that in this occasion you will compete face to face against a rival who will try to destroy a bigger amount of bricks faster than you. This opponent may be the computer, another player sharing the computer with you, or any opponent over a LAN or Internet.
Battles are held on different scenarios and arenas; every level is unique and presents new and increasingly difficult challenges that will make the game more exciting, especially because it never gets repetitive. It also has plenty of power ups that will give you extra abilities, transform the ball or bat, and provide you with special weapons to destroy bricks which are not easily breakable.
Game modes include battle, campaign, and online, as well as a tutorial mode to learn the basics. As far as sound goes, exploding and shooting noises are quite impressive - well, as the rest of the sound effects, in fact. Graphics are also excellent.
